Ozempic Burp: What is it?

This article discusses the side effects of popular weight loss medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro.

One common side effect, coined as “Ozempic burp”, refers to a specific side effect experienced by some individuals taking semaglutide weight loss medications Ozempic.

Excessive burping, often described as smelling like rotten eggs, is believed to be caused by the medications slowing down the digestive system and leading to a build-up of air. Other side effects reported include acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation. Some patients also experience unusual dreams and excessive bowel movements, while others may have difficulty having bowel movements. It’s important to note that these side effects may vary from person to person and may subside over time.
